We couldn't think of a better way to jump start The Very Best Of... discussion category in our community forum than thanking the National Association of Tower Erectors' former executive director, Patrick Howey, for the many years of service he has provided to our industry. After more than a decade, he's moving on to what we're sure will be another successful endeavor, and he leaves behind a legacy of accomplishments. Operations Director Paula Nurnberg will be driving the day-to-day activities for the organization under the direction of the board of directors and you couldn't ask for a more capable person behind the wheel. As the trade group's first employee, she helped guide the formative years of NATE in the mid-nineties and has, along with trade show chairman Ken Meador and his members, elevated the annual conference and exhibition to become recognized as the industry's premier event. But Paula will be quick to point out that NATE's administrative success has been a collaborative effort of Carol Coughlin, Jamie Brandriet, Corene Iverson, Shelly Trego and Nikki Gronau who proactively turn ordinary projects into extraordinary ones. We'll be quick to point out that NATE's continued success is a direct result of the efforts of its Chairman, Jim Coleman, and the association's directors: Pat Cipov, Kari Carlson, Ron Romano, Kevin Hayden, Dave Anthony, Jim Miller, Jimmy Miller, and Jim Tracy as well as the committee chairs and their members. Their work is time consuming and they self-fund all of their meeting and conference expenses, but their payday comes every time that they have the opportunity to reflect upon how NATE has effectively helped to save lives and reduce injuries through its safety initiatives.
