A contractor was awarded a job in North Carolina and the carrier used a lower wind speed in their design RFQ. The contractor didn't find this out until they went to pull the permit. They had to order another monopole since they were providing the tower materials. When the new design came back and the increased base reactions required a larger foundation, the carrier would not honor a change order for the increased cost. The contractor was persistent and prevailed. There can be an expensive domino dollar effect when you do not have the right wind speed and it can hold your project up for weeks.
