    Many self-supporting towers are erected close to power lines. Prior to submitting an erection price, check with the local utility company to identify the minimal distance they require so that your crane can operate. Some power companies set more stringent standards and you may have to include the expense of blanketing the line

    Very helpful hint. I have had this happen to me. I thought I just needed to go by OHSA standards. Well the Power company did have stricter guidelines. Luckly they did not charge extra to have the lines covered, and they also had a rep from the company on standby on our site. I'm sure you wont find that many places. It would have cut every dollar of profit in that job.
