Installation of an obstruction lighting system on a tower is typically provided by the erection contractor. It makes sense. Be sure you choose a contractor that is trained on the lighting component level and are proficient in observing fall protection requirements. However, prior to energizing any obstruction lighting system it should be inspected and approved by a state licensed electrician. Some erection companies and general contractors have in-house state certified electricians and can perform these inspections. Some electrical contractors on the site will only allow the erection contractor to install the flashhead or incandescent units and secure the power cable to the structure.
