When you are aligning each self supporting tower leg anchor bolt circle, ensure that you are following the installation design drawings and have either the bolts in line with the center point of the tower or have the bolts equidistant to the center of the tower. Leveling nuts will allow for a small variance in incorrect anchor bolt heights, but if the bolts are misaligned just a fraction off, the base section will not lace together and you'll have to remove and reset the anchor bolts, a costly and time consuming error.

Using a template will save a lot of effort and time, and will give better results.

Using a self made template made of plywood and 2x8's will cost $200 and save you in the long run.
