Is there an update on when it will be required?

Has IBC accepted Revision G in the 2006 supplement yet? Most people that you talk to are unsure as to its status. It's strange. The code is there but it seems like the building department bureaucracies keep the industry from using it. It's almost as if they don't want to use any new codes because it would create a learning curve and gawd forbid that they would be required to do that.

It is confusing. The IBC 2007 Supplement now references 222-G, the 2005 Structural Standard for Antenna Supporting Structures and Antennas. However, that does not mean that the local permitting authority will adopt the IBC 2007 Supplement. Very few states and permitting agencies use Revisions G. Florida is the only state that has adopted it. WirelessEstimator will provide a wrap up of who and who is not using the standard in a couple of weeks.
