Ohms reduced by rod placement

    Many installers will be directed by the client to add additional sectional rods to reduce high resistivity. This will work in very dry soil, by extending the ground rod into permanent ground water. However, if you can't reach water it adds little value. Drive another rod 6' to 10' away and connect a tail to the common rod and you'll see a marked improvement.
