Most client prequalification questionnaires request a listing of OSHA citations and their disposition. If you have had a serious accident, they may ask you to detail what steps you have taken to ensure that it does not happen again. Do not use selective memory since they can easily verify your information by accessing the OSHA CITATION DATABASE http://www.osha.gov/oshstats/index.html . Ideally, every company should be citation-free. However, the number of employees and completed projects as well as the number of years the business has been established can affect the number of citations. Unless you are provided with a credible explanation, be wary of a small organization with multiple closed citations.
