The National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) today reminded certification candidates and industry stakeholders that its previously announced zero-tolerance policy for exam environment requirements will take effect September 1, 2026.
The policy reinforces NWSA’s commitment to maintaining the integrity, fairness, validity, and reliability of its professional trade certification programs for the communications infrastructure industry.
Beginning September 1st, candidates whose testing environments do not meet all established requirements will not be permitted to take their exam.
Exam Environment Requirements
Candidates must comply with the following requirements for the entire duration of the exam:
- Candidates must be alone in a private, enclosed room with a door.
- Any area that offers visibility through the door, door panel, windows, or other opening of the closed room must be covered for the duration of the exam.
- Unless otherwise permitted by exam type, all whiteboards, bulletin boards, chalkboards and/or additional monitor(s) in the enclosed room must be covered for the duration of the exam session.
All Online Remote Proctored (ORP) exam administrations will follow accepted industry standards designed to provide fair and consistent testing conditions. NWSA administration policies are standardized as much as possible across modalities to ensure a fair, valid, and reliable test administration across all modalities.
As part of the implementation of this policy, NWSA is also updating exam environment requirements throughout its public communications and candidate materials.
