Venture capital exec to be guest speaker at Arkansas/Oklahoma group event July 18
June 19, 2007 - The Arkansas-Oklahoma Wireless Association is taking reservations for its summer meeting to be held Tuesday, July 18 at Nonna's Ristorante & Bar, One Mickey Mantle Dr., Oklahoma City, OK.R. Clayton Funk

There will be a morning session featuring R. Clayton Funk, managing director of Media Venture Partners from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A luncheon at $30 per person will be held following Funk's presentation.

Cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and conversation will be held the evening before at the restaurant from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funk joined MVP in 2004 after spending seven years with Nations Media Partners, a Kansas City-based investment banking firm specializing in various areas of communications, media and publishing. While at Nations Media, he was responsible for developing the firm's presence in the wireless tower and yellow pages publishing industries.

Since 1997, Funk has personally closed over 60 tower deals encompassing all kinds of transactions, including sale leasebacks for various wireless carriers, build to suits, broadcast tower sites and capital raises for tower developers.

He has been a featured speaker at various industry conferences.

MVP recently served as the advisor to M/C Venture Partners and Wachovia Capital Partners in their purchase of National Grid Wireless US, a leading wireless and fiber optic infrastructure provider to the communications industry.
