Product Information

Conductors – 800 Amp

Conductors 1The smallest conductor size for a 240 Volt - 800 amp service will range from #6 AWG for a short 20’ run to 600 MCM for an extended run of 500’ based upon a 3% voltage drop for a 1-Phase-3-Wire load circuit in PVC.

If the conductors are in galvanized rigid conduit the wire size increases beginning with runs exceeding 85’. The below wire size Conductors 2 and pricing tables are for estimating purposes only based upon conductors rated at 90° C / 194° F and   75° C / 194° F . See Article 310 in NEC 2005 for further information.

The conductor default pricing is the average distributor pricing for THHN, a flame retardant moisture and heat resistant thermoplastic covered conductor rated at 90° C / 194° F. It is suitable for dry and damp locations, however; don’t expose it to Calculator sunlight or weather. Two hot wires and one neutral are figured into the total price. Freight and taxes are not included. The conductor size is based upon the required length and installation in PVC. For conductor pricing in RGC or for type THW wire rated at 75° C / 194° F, see the below wire size and pricing tables.

We recommend that you contact our valued electrical distributors and electrical contractors for your site-specific conductor requirements.
