Chicago’s Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower, saw some glimmering lights early this morning after crews from ComEd activated the building’s emergency lighting system, which will allow them to turn back on power for the entire 110-floor building.

The skyscraper had been closed for several days after torrential rain last weekend and Monday caused massive flooding throughout Chicago, swelling the Chicago River that flooded into the building’s electrical vaults.

A number of TV stations were still working to restore their broadcast signals following the outage, including WCIU, WBBM and others.

For nearly 40 years, Willis Tower has provided broadcasters with industry-leading facilities needed to serve the Chicago television and radio markets and wireless communications services.
