The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) today announced that Karmen Rajamani has been hired as Vice President, Government Affairs, effective September 5, 2023. Rajamani joins WIA from Crown Castle where she was Vice President of Government Affairs working with state and local governments to drive tower, fiber, and small cell deployments nationwide. At WIA, while supporting all advocacy efforts, she will lead the association’s state advocacy agenda, working with stakeholders in state capitals across the country.
“I am excited to join the impressive WIA team – continuing and growing its efforts to support and advance the wireless technologies that enable long term, sustainable progress for the industry and the consumers we serve,” said Rajamani.
“We are thrilled to have a person with Karmen’s depth of experience and talent joining our team,” said WIA SVP of Government Affairs and Chief Strategy Officer Mike Saperstein. “She has spent over twenty years working directly on the wireless infrastructure siting and policy issues that WIA’s members face on a daily basis. I’m eager to work alongside her in WIA’s pursuit of wireless connectivity everywhere.”
During her time at Crown Castle, Rajamani held a variety of roles including Network Permitting and Utilities Director, Tower Real Estate Director, and Government Relations Director, leading regional and national teams. Prior to joining Crown Castle, she worked at American Tower, where she served as DAS Director and National Zoning Manager. Rajamani started her telecommunications career in fixed wireless at Teligent in Washington, DC.
