To ensure quick deployments, Valmont Telecom and ConcealFab designed the Side Enclosure portfolio, which combines RF transparency, thermal performance, and installation-ready accessories that meaningfully shorten field labor and accelerate site readiness. The RF-transparent, pole-mounted enclosures are engineered for 5G densification, fiber expansion, and private network growth.
Valmont Telecom, the wireless infrastructure business of Valmont Industries, has introduced the ConcealFab Side Enclosure portfolio, a new family of RF-transparent, pole-mounted outdoor cabinets engineered to support the rapid expansion of 5G small cells, fiber networks, and private LTE/5G systems across North America.
As U.S. operators deploy an estimated 50,000 to 70,000 small cells annually, and municipalities continue to tighten design and aesthetic requirements, pole-mounted enclosures have emerged as one of the fastest-growing segments of the telecom equipment market. Valmont Telecom said the new Side Enclosure portfolio was explicitly developed to address those pressures—helping operators move faster through deployment while meeting performance, durability, and municipal approval requirements.
Built for Deployment Speed, Designed for Long-Term Performance
The ConcealFab Side Enclosure line provides a scalable platform ranging from 24 inches to 69 inches, supporting radios, power systems, fiber distribution nodes, and battery backup equipment. Built using ConcealFab’s proven RF-transparent materials, the enclosures preserve radio performance while reducing the visual footprint of street-level wireless infrastructure.
Designed to minimize time on site and reduce total cost of ownership, the Side Enclosure portfolio combines Valmont engineering with advanced concealment design to help operators deploy faster, minimize field labor, and maintain equipment with lower lifecycle costs.
Durability You Can Depend On
Engineered for harsh outdoor environments, the Side Enclosures feature corrosion-resistant materials, reinforced construction, and rigorous lifecycle testing to ensure long service life. Universal mounting brackets support future technology refreshes, reducing the need for structural rework as equipment evolves and network requirements change.
Optimized Installation and Maintenance
Every element of the Side Enclosure platform is designed to streamline installation and service. Modular cabinet architecture, pre-engineered mounting options, and technician-friendly access points allow crews to install, service, and upgrade equipment quickly and efficiently. The system supports passive or active thermal management and ships with pre-engineered mounting brackets, fan kits, cable protection, and move-in kits, helping integrators reduce deployment bottlenecks and maintain predictable maintenance schedules across large-scale rollouts.
“With speedy lead times, this line has the potential to meaningfully reduce deployment delays for integrators working under tight schedules,” Valmont Telecom said.
Aesthetic Design That Supports Faster Approvals
Municipal acceptance remains a critical factor in small cell and fiber deployment timelines. ConcealFab’s clean industrial designs and RF-transparent materials help installations blend into the streetscape while maintaining network performance. Optional finishes, textures, and configurable designs allow operators to better align with local aesthetic requirements, supporting smoother permitting and faster approvals.
“Carriers and private network adopters are under pressure to deploy faster and with fewer permitting barriers,” said Jonathan Morris, Director of Small Cell Products, ConcealFab. “We designed the Side Enclosure portfolio specifically to address those constraints—combining RF transparency, thermal performance, and installation-ready accessories that meaningfully shorten field labor and accelerate site readiness.”
A Scalable Platform for Evolving Network Needs
The Side Enclosure platform integrates seamlessly with ConcealFab’s pole-top concealments, enabling unified small-cell or fiber-node solutions on light poles, utility poles, and municipal assets. As part of the broader Valmont Telecom ecosystem, the enclosures also integrate with poles, mounts, concealment solutions, and PIM-mitigation accessories, providing operators with a scalable platform that adapts as network demands grow.
“Valmont Telecom’s mission is to engineer infrastructure that keeps pace with the evolving demands of networks,” said Jayson Ewald, Vice President and General Manager, Valmont Telecom. “The ConcealFab Side Enclosure portfolio reflects that commitment, providing operators with a durable, scalable, and aesthetically aligned solution for 5G densification, FTTH expansion, smart city systems, and private networks.”
Availability
The ConcealFab Side Enclosure line is available immediately in multiple configurations supporting small cell deployments, fiber distribution nodes, lithium-ion and lead-acid battery systems, and industrial private LTE/5G applications.
