Patrick Murphy, left, has transitioned from the company’s CEO role to COO. Sam McGuire has been named the new CEO.
Murphy Tower Service, a leader in wireless and wireline infrastructure service, has announced a key leadership transition. Co-owner Patrick Murphy will step down as Chief Executive Officer effective immediately and transition into the role of Chief Operating Officer.
Sam McGuire, current CEO of the parent company FieldSync, Inc., has been named the new CEO of Murphy Tower Service. This transition was part of the strategic succession plan when Murphy Tower Service merged with FieldSync Technologies in 2024 to form the holding company FieldSync, Inc.
While McGuire has been leading the broader organization as CEO of the holding company, his new role as Murphy Tower Service’s CEO marks a significant milestone in the company’s continued growth and innovation.
A legacy of growth and innovation
Murphy co-founded Murphy Tower Service in 2004, overseeing its expansion from a tower construction company into a diversified infrastructure provider with four specialized business units: Tower Service, Network & DAS, Electric and Fiber.
Under his leadership, Murphy Tower Service completed two acquisitions and spearheaded the merger with FieldSync Technologies, further solidifying its position as an industry leader.
“Leading Murphy Tower Service has been an incredible journey, and I am extremely proud of what we’ve built,” Murphy said. “I have full confidence in Sam’s leadership and vision as we enter this next phase. Together, we will continue driving innovation and delivering unparalleled service to our customers.”
Murphy was recently appointed to serve as the Secretary/Treasurer of The Tower Family Foundation. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded over $1.9 million in donations and scholarships to eligible tower workers and their families.
New leadership to drive strategic growth
Sam McGuire, who co-founded FieldSync Technologies with his brother Mike McGuire, brings deep expertise in business management, software development, and the wireless industry. As CEO of FieldSync, Inc., he has played a pivotal role in improving the integration of climbing and drone inspection techniques, the collection and delivery of inspection data, and recommendations for infrastructure management.
“I’m honored to step into the CEO role at Murphy Tower Service and continue building on the strong foundation that Patrick and the entire Murphy family have created,” McGuire said. “I look forward to working with our talented team to drive operational excellence, expand our service offerings, and deliver even greater value to our customers and partners.”
