A Texas man died Friday after falling from a tower along Two Towers Road west of Little Rock, AR, an area known for its cluster of broadcast and communications structures on Shinall Mountain.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched at about 2:09 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, to 19008 Two Towers Road. The office later identified the victim as 62-year-old Toby A. Cole of Harlingen, Texas. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, Cole died of his injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities said the tower tech reportedly fell from approximately 200 feet.

The sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division is handling the case, and no cause has been released.

The incident address sits within the Shinall Mountain antenna farm, the principal broadcast site for the Little Rock market. Multiple full-power TV stations and FM radio facilities operate from tall masts on and around Two Towers Road, with structures exceeding 1,000 feet above ground.

Public tower records bracket who owns major structures in the immediate corridor near the incident address. At Shinall Mountain, ASRN 1019242 is listed with Nexstar Media Inc. as the structure owner and carries, among others, KARK-TV and KTHV. Nearby, ASRN 1036555 lists Mission Broadcasting, Inc. as the structure owner and supports KLRT-TV and KARZ-TV. ASRN 1263739 lists KATV Licensee, LLC as the structure owner and also hosts public radio station KUAR’s antenna.

In addition to those broadcast masts, a tower at 20324 Two Towers Road is registered to VB-S1 Assets, LLC, an affiliate of Vertical Bridge.

And a separate Arkansas Public Service Commission filing lists 18401 Two Towers Road under SBA Properties, LLC.

As of Monday, officials had not released additional details about Cole’s employer or the circumstances that led to the fall.

Cole is the nation’s third fatality of a tower technician in 2025.
