
The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) has announced that Iain Gillott has joined the organization as Vice President of Technology and Innovation. In this role, Gillott will provide technical and strategic advice to WIA in a fast-evolving wireless and digital infrastructure ecosystem.
“Iain Gillott has long served as a strategic technology consultant to WIA, and we are pleased to welcome him in-house on the WIA team,” said Patrick Halley, President and CEO, WIA. “Iain has been a valuable member of our team, producing critical industry research and helping to lead membership initiatives like the Innovation and Technology Council and the In-Building Forum. In this era of rapid technological advancement, we are excited to continue to have Iain’s depth of experience to help WIA deliver the latest market and technology insights for our members.”

Gillott has more than 30 years of experience working in and serving as a market analyst for the mobile wireless industry. He is the founder and president of iGR, a consultancy exclusively focused on in-depth data analysis for the wireless industry. In recent years, his research has expanded to cover broadband telecom services to the home and enterprise, as more homes and businesses have become connected with fixed and mobile wireless services. Gillott has supported WIA as a consultant since 2012.
Before founding iGR, Gillott served as Group Vice President in IDC’s Telecommunications practice, managing worldwide research on wireless and mobile communications, Internet access, telecom brands, residential and small-business telecommunications, and telecom billing services. Prior to joining IDC, Gillott served various technical and business roles for EDS (now HP), working with wireless and mobile operators. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from Bangor University.
