NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association has officially deactivated its OneVizion-powered CertTrac certification tracking system as it moves forward with the development of a new, modern certification platform designed to integrate with its expanding STAR safety management system.

Effective January 1, CertTrac was no longer offered as a NATE member benefit. According to the association, the decision reflects a broader effort to modernize certification tracking tools and deliver improved functionality for contractors, technicians, and safety managers working in the field.

NATE said all certification records previously stored in CertTrac have been preserved and can be transferred to the new platform based on the member’s direction. The forthcoming system is being designed to provide easier field access, expanded capabilities, and closer alignment with workforce safety and compliance management needs.

As the STAR platform continues to expand, NATE indicated it will continue adding tools and features aimed at delivering a comprehensive, full-service safety management system for members. The new certification tracking platform is expected to be a core component of that broader ecosystem.

The CertTrac platform managed workforce certifications by automatically aligning technician credentials with assigned roles, flagging compliance status, and providing direct access to certification records. It gives managers a centralized view of crew qualifications, alerts on gaps or risks, and tools to document and track workforce and safety-related information.

NATE said it is actively building the replacement solution and will share additional updates, timelines, and transition details as they become available. Members who previously used CertTrac and have not yet been contacted are encouraged to reach out directly to the association for assistance. NATE has provided a certification tracking platform since February 2020.

For questions related to CertTrac records or the transition process, NATE advised members to contact Brian@natehome.com, Kathy@natehome.com, or Jill@natehome.com.

The association thanked members for their patience during the transition and said the investment reflects its ongoing focus on strengthening industry tools and supporting workforce safety across the communications infrastructure sector.

The NATE STAR platform is NATE’s central technology system that supports its STAR Initiative—a voluntary industry safety program for tower and communications infrastructure contractors and their member companies. The STAR Initiative emphasizes Safety, Training, Accountability and Reliability, asking participating firms to adhere to higher safety standards through training, regular site safety audits, and documented implementation of industry best practices.
