Wireless Estimator has been notified by 3M Fall Protection (formerly Capital Safety) that there was a production issue with a number of its Zorbit Energy Absorbers that could create a risk of serious injury or death for the user in the event of a fall from height. The Zorbit is used with horizontal lifeline systems.
3M said that although there have been no reported accidents or injuries associated with this issue, the company is voluntarily recalling a limited lot range of this product and will replace affected energy absorbers free of charge.
The notice applies only to Zorbit Energy Absorbers with lot codes between 2101506 and 2464624 manufactured between March and August 2015.
