HPC Wireless Services, a wireless telecommunications platform company servicing the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, has announced the agenda for their 2nd Annual Northeast Wireless Safety Summit (NEWSS), taking place from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Feb. 4, 2016 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Tarrytown, N.Y.
The NEWSS program includes panels, keynotes and demonstrations addressing the safety issues and legal matters related to cell tower safety.
Attendees will hear from major players in the tower industry and learn what is being done to eliminate tower accidents and increase tower safety for climbers.
Doug Dickinson, Environment, Health and Safety officer at Ericsson, will give a presentation, “Tower Training Techniques,” which will address the newly implemented training programs used to prepare technicians for safe tower climbing.
Other panels include: “Who is Responsible for Safety,” presented by Todd Schlekeway of the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE); “Proper Manlift Operation,” a demonstration presented by Rob O’Leary of Big Rentz; and “IDAS/ODAS Safety: Best Practices and Lessons Learned,” presented by Justin Shorey of Shorey Wireless.
Additionally, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will provide attendees with an overview of the consequences of neglecting safety for the tower climber community.
