The National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE) is playing a significant role this week at the 3rd Annual Structure, Tower and Antenna Council (STAC) Conference & Exposition in Calgary, Alberta. The STAC event, which began yesterday, is being held April 17-18 at the Hyatt Regency Calgary Hotel.
NATE Chairman Jim Tracy delivered a STAC 2018 keynote presentation today entitled The Human Factor. During his remarks, Tracy highlighted how NATE is working across normal boundaries to enhance an industry’s economic stability and prosperity by focusing on people. Chairman Tracy also used the platform to discuss the workforce development initiatives and strategies the Association is currently engaged in to help develop a future pipeline of skilled technicians.
Canadian representatives of NATE’s Wireless Industry Network (WIN) including Jerry Bezner from Alliance Corporation, Craig McLellan from Nouvelle Hauteur Inc., Jeanne Piercey from Pier Structural Engineering Corp. and Rick Tiller from Tiller Engineering Inc. were also active participants at STAC 2018.
In addition to the NATE keynote address, the STAC 2018 Conference and Exposition included informative sessions on topics such as Guy Anchor Corrosion and Protection, Tall Tower Rescue, UAV Regulatory Updates, 5G Technologies, Fall Protection and Rigging Safety.
