Petzl Astro Bod Fast, Sit Fast and Canyon Guide harnesses quarantined and should be inspected

Following the detection of a defect on the metal D gated ventral attachment point of a harness, Petzl is requesting that all customers quarantine and inspect the ASTRO BOD FAST, ASTRO SIT FAST and CANYON GUIDE harnesses.

The company said due to the risk of unintentional opening of this attachment point, which could result in an injury or life-threatening situation, they are asking that their distributors stop all sales and use, and also complete the following inspection procedure for the ASTRO BOD FAST, ASTRO SIT FAST and CANYON GUIDE harnesses in your possession, in accordance with the following procedure:

REQUEST FOR QUARANTINE AND INSPECTION

  • If you are a retailer, you must immediately communicate this request for quarantine and inspection, to all customers who have purchased the ASTRO BOD FAST, ASTRO SIT FAST and CANYON GUIDE harnesses.
  • In addition, they encourage you to spread this request for inspection more widely, such as through websites, social networks, customer databases, in-store displays, etc.
  • If you find a non-compliant Metal D, please contact Aftersales_NA@petzl.com for a replacement Metal D.”
