The Livonia, Mich. School Board has welcomed the opportunity for a revenue enhancement of $900,000 from American Tower Corp. for a perpetual easement for a three-tenant stadium lighting monopole site at Cell-Tower-LeaseStevenson High School’s athletic field, and agreed to ink an agreement on Monday.

According to an article in Home Town Life, Interim Superintendent Andrea Oquist said the $900,000 is nearly half of the $1.9 million in revenue enhancements the district need to balance their general fund budget.

The district was receiving lease payments of $60,000 per year.

Allowing tower companies to buy out their lease by tower consolidators is becoming slightly more common, a leasing consultant informed Wireless Estimator. “But primarily because the offers have continually increased over time, just like tower multiples,” he said.

The agreement is available here.
