The NATE Wireless Industry Network (WIN) will be hosting its Southeast Regional Conference on Oct. 29, 2018 at the Hilton Garden Inn Pensacola/Medical Center in Pensacola, Fla.
The conference will focus on key industry safety initiatives as well as other educational presentations, and offer tremendous networking and professional development opportunities for attendees, according to WIN Director Scott Krouse.
The conference will feature a National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) presentation on becoming NWSA certified. This session, presented by NWSA Executive Director Duane MacEntee, will educate attendees on NWSA’s transformative and nationwide certification programs available to the communications tower industry workforce and will guide participants through the steps required to obtain NWSA credentials.
Craig Lekutis, President of Wireless Estimator, will be presenting a session on The Changing World of Work: Hiring and Maintaining Top Tower Talent. Lekutis has over 35 years of hiring and workforce experience and founded the nation’s largest and most successful industry employment job board in 2004.
In his presentation, The Myth Behind the Certificate of Insurance – Are you Really Covered? – John McGarvey of McGriff Insurance Services’ Telecommunications Division, will take a deep dive into the oftentimes misunderstood document that may not provide the coverage you’re expecting if there is an accident or serious property damage.
Don’t Sweat the Small Cells is expected to be an excellent panel presentation exploring small cells best practices moderated by Chris Pleibel, Sales Director, Wireless Distribution, Perfect 10. Presenters include: Michael Goodman – Chief Operating Officer, Syscom Telecom; Jason Leiker – Director of Field Engineers for Hou. Gulf Coast & S. Central Sub Markets, Verizon Wireless; Larry J. Smith – RF Engineering Manager-Network RAN Coverage Design and Regional Support, Sprint; and Todd Williams – President/COO, CMS Wireless, LLC.
Exploring the Culture and Complacency of Safety will be presented by Edward Williams, the NY/NJ Market Safety Manager-Telecom, Overland Contracting Inc.
NATE members and non-members alike are encouraged to attend this conference with its opportunities for continuing education and networking. Attendees will have the opportunity to enter into a prize drawing for two, complimentary full conference passes to NATE UNITE 2019 in Grapevine, Tex.
