NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association unveiled a video covering first aid at communication tower sites. The video is the fifth to debut in Volume 7 of the Association’s popular #ClimberConnection Series.
The video includes an informative, back-and-forth dialogue between narrator Sean Gilhooley and Brandon Foster, Director of Safety and Field Operations of NATE member company VIKOR.
During their conversation, Gilhooley and Foster articulate the importance of having crews trained in emergency protocols, being prepared to implement an emergency action plan when in the field and highlight the essential items that should be included in company first aid kits at tower sites.
“It is my hope that this video provides the impetus for all companies in the industry to ensure their tower technician crews are appropriately trained to respond to emergency situations that could occur at sites, both on and off the tower. I also would encourage companies in the industry to use this video to reassess the items in their first aid kits to ensure they are equipped to care for workers during the unpredictable and often unforeseen circumstances that may occur at sites,” said Foster.
