The full-day FCC workshop will include case studies on Super Bowl 2016 and the Philadelphia Papal visit, along with other presentations from key industry experts in DAS and small cells.

The FCC Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, in cooperation with the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA), will host a workshop focusing on distributed antenna systems (DAS) and small cell solutions on Tues., May 3, 2016, in the Commission Meeting Room at FCC Headquarters in Washington, DC from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM EDT.

Panelists, moderators and other speakers will round out a full day workshop that will be webcast on the FCC web page.

The workshop will provide an overview of DAS and small cell technologies that augment mobile broadband and wireless services in cities and communities.  It will also have discussions on successful deployments of DAS and small cell technologies in both outdoor and indoor public spaces, including hospitals, campuses, buildings, business and historical districts, and transit systems.  The workshop aims to inform municipal leaders, planners, hospital and campus administrators, building owners, transit and transportation authorities and interested members of the public how DAS and small cell technologies provide benefits and economic opportunities by expanding mobile broadband, augmenting wireless data coverage, and aiding first responders inside buildings.

An environmental siting FCC workshop is also planned for May 4, 2016.
