Dan McVaugh joins Tower Family Foundation Board; Leadership team of Tracy, Blakeslee and Murphy announced

The Tower Family Foundation has announced the newest appointment to the non-profit organization’s leadership team. Dan McVaugh, Senior Advisor of Cathedral Consulting, has been appointed to serve on the Tower Family Foundation’s Board of Directors. McVaugh joins the slate of industry executives devoted to the Foundation’s mission of providing financial support and scholarships to industry workers and their families during times of immediate need.

The Tower Family Foundation also announces that Board of Directors’ members Jim Tracy, Kenny Blakeslee, and Patrick Murphy were appointed by their peers to serve on the non-profit organization’s Executive Committee for the 2025 term.

Jim Tracy, President of Legacy Enterprises, Inc. in Eagle, Idaho, was appointed to serve another term as the President of the Board of Directors, Kenny Blakeslee, President & CEO of Apex Site Solutions in Elk Grove, California, was appointed to serve as Vice President of the Board of Directors, and Patrick Murphy, CEO and Owner of Murphy Tower Service, LLC in Carlisle, Iowa, was appointed to serve as the Secretary/Treasurer.

Blakeslee who previously served in the role of Secretary/Treasurer replaces departing Vice President, Victor Drouin. Drouin was an inaugural Advisory Committee member and has served on the Foundation’s Board of Directors since 2019. He served as President in 2020 and Vice President from 2021 – 2025.

“Victor has been at the core of our mission, both serving and talking to the families at their most vulnerable stage. While he hit term limits as a Board Member, his service to this organization and the families it serves has been invaluable. His leadership, wisdom and vision for the important role we play has been a treasure,” stated Jim Tracy, President of the Foundation. “Furthermore, the veteran Tower Family Foundation leadership team both at the Executive Committee and Board welcomes Dan McVaugh who has served our Foundation and led the industry for decades.”

Since its inception, the Tower Family Foundation has awarded over $1.9 million in donations and scholarships to eligible tower workers and their families. Dan McVaugh

Dan McVaugh is a wireless telecom industry veteran who began his career as a radio frequency engineer in the early 90’s and has worked in numerous roles since. Currently working as an advisor, independent consultant, and developer of telecom infrastructure projects, Dan taps into his various engineering and leadership roles and his entrepreneurial experience to advise clients on business, technology, and leadership.

McVaugh has served a RF engineer, manager, and director for various wireless service providers, including Sprint and US West Wireless. He later co-founded ATECS, a professional services firm, that grew to offer all aspects of professional services, designing, implementing, and maintaining wireless networks including RF engineering, site acquisition, A&E, and project management. ATECS later rebranded as Centerline Solutions and grew to a full-turnkey professional and construction services firm. With nine offices in eight states, Centerline Solutions designed, built, modified, and maintained networks for every major wireless service provider in the U.S. and numerous other wireless network operators.

After 17 years leading ATECS/Centerline, he stepped away and began a wireless consulting practice and continues to independently develop various telecommunications infrastructure projects. In addition to serving on the Board for the Tower Family Foundation, he has also served four years as the President of the Colorado Wireless Association (COWA) and currently serves as the Education Chair for COWA.
