![]() John Paul (JP) Jones emotionally thanked his longtime colleagues after receiving NATE’s highest honor, the Bill Carlson Lifetime Achievement Award. JP emphasized that active involvement in industry organizations and contributions to improving standards, engineering, training, and best practices can make the telecommunications construction industry significantly safer—a belief proven by his own dedicated efforts. NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association on Wednesday honored a distinguished group of leaders for their contributions to the organization and industry. The following honorees were presented their awards at the NATE UNITE 2025 Awards recognition luncheon sponsored by Boost Mobile in Raleigh, North Carolina: Bill Carlson Lifetime Service Award John Paul (JP) Jones (Safety LMS) John Paul (JP) Jones has worked in the telecommunications tower industry since the age of 16 and has erected, modified and maintained all types of towers and antenna systems in 27 different countries around the globe. For the past 18 years, JP has been heavily involved in training and educating over 2,000 tower workers in fall protection, rescue and tower safety. He is President of Safety LMS and former President of Tower & Turbine Technologies LLC. ![]() PAULA NURNBERG, NATE’s Chief Operating Officer (fourth from left), received the association’s first Chairman’s Award of Excellence. Since joining NATE at its inception in 1995, Nurnberg has guided many of the association’s most successful initiatives. Despite her preference for working behind the scenes, her impact is evident in countless achievements throughout the organization. JP previously served on the NATE Board of Directors and is the former Chairman of the NATE OSHA Relations Committee. He also serves as an active member of the ANSI 10.48 Committee and the Tower Gin Pole Summit group for TIA 1019-A. JP is also a member of the Telecommunications Tower Group within Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT). He believes that through the active involvement in these organizations and advancements in standards, engineering, training and best practices, the telecommunications tower industry can become a much safer place to work. Distinguished Service Award This notable award recognizes past or present standing committee members who have demonstrated direct and individual contributions to the mission of NATE and whose performance has proven so exceptional that it profoundly affects the success of the Association. John Lamond Chairman’s Coin Awards The Chairman’s Coin is a prestigious award, chosen by the NATE Chairman, recognizing individuals who have provided excellent dedication and service to the mission of NATE and to encourage continued involvement. BeLinda Fadely Outstanding Heights Awards This award is presented to individuals who have worked in the communications infrastructure industry for at least 20 years. Retired individuals are eligible. Nominees must exhibit long-term commitment and dedication to their work in the industry that has proven to be truly outstanding.
