In conjunction with the quarterly meeting, the association will hold its First Annual Golf Tournament on Tuesday, October 17 at Rebsamen Golf Course. Net proceeds from the tournament will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas and Oklahoma City.
The AROK Wireless Association was the seventh state wireless association formed, and has grown to 120 members. There are now nine SWAs, covering 13 states. Associations are also being launched in Texas and New England this month. These associations are comprised of members from all sectors of the wireless industry - carriers, site providers, tower companies, equipment vendors, construction companies, legal and other consultants. The mission of each state wireless association is to promote positive wireless industry awareness. The companies in the association have formed together to educate state and local public officials about the role of the wireless industry and its benefits, and to cultivate relationships between the various members of the industry.
