Connecticut does not require general contractors to hold a state license. However, if you do work on residential properties you’ll be considered a home improvement contractor and you’ll need to register with the Department of Consumer Protection.

This progressive New England state has added a license category for a "Telecommunications Infrastructure Layout Technician". We have no idea what that is and there's not a hint of information on their web site. Does this mean that you have to be licensed if you hold the smart end of the tape from the center pivot pin to an anchor point?
