Rhode Island
Commercial contractors are not required to be registered with the state of Rhode Island. However, it's important to check local jurisdictions. In example, if you wanted to build a 150' lattice tower adjacent to Newport's unparalleled array of historic homes, you would probably have to conceal it by making it look like an Italian Renaissance-style gilded age mansion that would make Cornelius Vanderbilt II blush with envy. We're sure there would be a license required. Zoning approval should be no more than a one-hour walkthrough.
Out-of-State Corporations
Corporations interested in doing business in Rhode Island must register with the Rhode Island Secretary of State. For information, contact: http://www.state.ri.us/
