PVC Conduit
PVC Pipe size is always described and ordered in terms of its inside diameter. Therefore, a 1” PVC pipe has a 1” diameter. This is the “nominal” size; it is not meant to be exact. One of PVC’s (polyvinyl chloride) feedstocks is natural gas or petroleum so pricing can see great fluctuations in unstable times. Smaller sizes can be obtained from most home supply centers, but sizes in excess of 2” are in excellent supply from electrical wholesalers and other distributors. You should identify whether the specified conduits on the plans will accommodate the power source required. See the conduit fill table below. The most common length is 10’, but 20’ sections can be special ordered.
 The default pricing below (under 200') for the PVC conduit selected is what the contractor should expect to pay to a distributor. Pricing is adjusted for longer runs. It does not include taxes and freight. Round up to the nearest 10 feet when entering your total length. The pricing is an average of multiple suppliers and may be higher or lower in some markets. Add to your estimate the cost of PVC cleaner and cement.
