The Telecommunications Industry Foundation (TIF), announced today their board appointments for the new 2022-2023 term.
Scott Vance, PE, current Chair of TIF, will assume the position of Chair-Emeritus. Michelle Kang, PE, Geographic Discipline Leader of Telecommunications with Colliers Engineering & Design, will assume Chair. Scott Stekr, PE, VP of US Engineering with PerfectVision, was elected to Vice-Chair and Joshua Huff, JD — In-House Counsel, Risk Management Director — Tower Engineering Solutions, LLC, will assume the role of Secretary/ Treasurer.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their support and dedication as we advanced TIF’s commitment to the industry. The team that works together does great things for and in support of others. I look forward to continuing to support the efforts of TIF and the industry as a whole,” said Vance.
“It gives me great joy to recognize the new officers for all the time they have volunteered and the hard work they’ve put in over the past two years. I admire their dedication and willingness to take on more responsibilities to help create a forum where topics of importance can be discussed, best practices can be formulated/communicated and published for consumption by industry stakeholders, with the ultimate goal of receiving feedback from a wider audience that can be incorporated into future papers.”
Vance noted that it is important to recognize that all of the board members, committee members, and volunteers are doing great work to help others and improve the quality and safety in our industry.
Michelle Kang, PE, has 15 years of experience providing engineering solutions and expertise on all telecommunications structure types for the nation’s leading carriers and tower owners. As the former TIA TR-14 Ad Hoc Chair for mount analysis, Michelle was responsible for leading a group of engineers in the development of Chapter 16 in TIA-222-H. She has direct experience assisting major carriers and tower owners in the development of their internal A&E standards and has been an expert panel speaker and moderator at multiple industry events.
Scott Vance, PE has worked in the Telecommunications Industry for the past 13 years and has extensive experience in tower modification design. In addition to being licensed in 14 states, Vance has spent the last several years contributing to the TIA TR-14 Standard Committee, participating in various subcommittees, and is currently Chair of Ad Hoc Group 15 (Interaction of Mounting Systems).
Scott Stekr, PE, is the Director of Structural Engineering for PerfectVision. He has been a professional in the telecommunications industry for over 14 years and has an impressive resume with extensive experience in structural design, conceptual design, and research and development. He is a licensed PE in the state of Colorado.
Joshua Huff, JD, has been practicing in the telecommunications industry for over 9 years. In addition to acting as in-house counsel, he has a focus on project management and developing efficient reporting strategies to optimize productivity and reduce cost structures. A vital function of his project management focus is identifying (and mitigating) risk factors through comprehensive subcontractor management and structured internal reporting mechanisms. One of Joshua’s principal contributions to TIF has been to serve as an editor and volunteer on TIF content committees responsible for drafting Planning Advisory Notices and White Papers that serve our wonderful industry by providing and promoting education and knowledge on a variety of hot topics in the industry.
