At the event, President Trump and Ivanka Trump both delivered remarks commemorating the One Year Anniversary of the Pledge to America’s Workers initiative, a key program of the Administration’s National Council for the American Worker. Comprised of Senior Administration officials, the Council is charged with developing a National strategy for training and retraining the workers needed across high-demand industries. During the event, the President and Ivanka Trump also facilitated a roundtable discussion with workers and executives representing a diverse group of industries to foster dialogue regarding workforce development priorities and the prominent role workers play to keep the American economy strong and vibrant.

The NATE delegation invited to participate at today’s White House event included: Jimmy Miller, Chairman – NATE Board of Directors, MillerCo, Inc.; Tower Technician Cody Jones, Tower & Turbine Technologies LLC; and Tower Foreman Ky Nguyen, Rio Steel and Tower, LTD.

During today’s event, NATE representatives officially signed the Pledge to America’s Workers Campaign, affirming the Association’s commitment to facilitate training and professional development opportunities for 10,000 current and future workers over the course of the next five years. NATE plans to fulfill the pledge through offerings such as the Association’s Susan Harwood Training Grant program, NATE UNITE Conference Seminars, NATE UNITE Conference Training Courses, Wireless Industry Network Regional Conferences and continuing education webinars. NATE’s 10,000 worker pledge is structured to represent the commitment on behalf of the organization and does not include the additional training that the Association’s member companies will also provide over the course of the next five years.

“Our mission is straightforward: to ensure inclusive growth and opportunity in our booming economy by creating pathways for all Americans, regardless of age or background, to acquiring the skills needed to secure and retain high-paying jobs,” said Ivanka Trump, Advisor to the President.

“On behalf of the over 900 member companies of NATE, we are excited to participate in the Pledge to America’s Workers Campaign, said the Association’s Chairman, Jimmy Miller from Gulfport, Mississipi.

“The timing of this campaign is perfect as NATE member companies are currently on the front lines of the early 5G deployment cycle which will lead to technology and equipment upgrades at thousands of communication sites around the country. Workforce development is a top priority for NATE and the Association is committed to facilitating training and investing in professional development opportunities for the industry’s current and future workforce in order to ensure that the United States maintains our position as the global leader in 5G, and that this next-generation deployment cycle is conducted in a safe and quality manner,” added Miller.

“I would like to thank President Trump, Presidential Advisor Ivanka Trump and other top Administration officials for the opportunity to participate in today’s event,” stated Ky Nguyen, a foreman at Rio Steel and Tower LTD in Alvarado, Texas. “It was an honor to represent the tower technician workforce today at the White House and highlight the jobs and career opportunities available to workers in our robust and rewarding industry,” Nguyen said.
